Lake Maggiore’s Portofino and the S. Michele Belvedere
A fun itinerary which starts in Caldè, known as Lake Maggiore’s Portofino, and winds along low-traffic roads and mule tracks uphill to Alpe San Michele with its characteristic small church and breathtaking views. The return journey is on a mule track after a small tour through high altitude woods below Mount Pian Nave.
Monte la Nave – Sette Termini
An itinerary which explores one of the most panoramic belvedere’s over lakes Ceresio and Lugano through a route made up of Cadorna Line trenches and artillery posts. The climb to the peak of Mount Sette Termini affords spectacular views over Lake Maggiore and a fun descent through pine groves to the little Montegrino lake. The return journey is through historic farms and villages overlooking the valleys.
