VILLA PORTA
The history of Villa Porta begins in 1820 when, designed initially to be a hunting lodge, in the late 18th century was transformed into an inn by Leopoldo Casnedi.
Over the years, the villa has been embellished by rare plants collected by Mr. Porta, the subsequent owner and expert botanist, during his travels. Numerous illustrious figures have fallen in love with this villa and have contributed to enhancing its beauty with interventions that have shaped the 10,000 sqm park, the charming Liberty-style greenhouse, the picturesque marina, and the majestic “Villa Porta” mosaic that still today shows off on the rocky wall.
LARA LUZ
The Luz family’s history began in 1971 when Mr. Lothar from Stuttgart embarked on a significant transformation process, creating a luxury hotel named Camin Hotel Colmegna, with special attention paid to suite 107, known as “the fireplace”.
The location in Colmegna soon became a favored destination for both hotel and restaurant guests, and it was made famous for its quality and style. Over the last thirty years, the energy of Lara Luz, Lother’s daughter, rejuvenated the Villa.
Since 1994, Lara has been the heart and leader of the property, restoring its original name “Villa Porta” to emphasize the evolution of the villa and its commitment to excellence and respect for the original values.
This personal philosophy is now the company’s mission.
Here, experience and professionalism blend to create a concept of excellent modern hospitality while preserving a spontaneous and welcoming character.
YOUR STYLE, OUR STYLE.
The beauty and comforts are evident in the 30 cozy rooms of the Villa, in the delightful Charming Moment holiday homes, in the cozy Tower, in the elegant setting of the Tiffany Restaurant with breathtaking views of the Gulf of Colmegna, and last but not least, in the Limonaia Ballroom, inaugurated in 2023. The Limonaia Ballroom, with its open-air Skyline, represents the ideal backdrop for elegant occasions. Suspended between lake and sky, this place is an exclusive experience in the hospitality sector and proudly contributes to enhancing Lake Maggiore as a world-famous destination.
The gourmet dining experience completes the beauty of the landscape with a combination of traditional dishes and refined flavors, always strongly connected to the territory.
